Legitimate reasons to hate someone:

• Something they personally did and have no remorse for

Bad reasons to hate someone:

• Their skin color
• Their gender identity
• What their ancestors did
• Their sexuality

Because, guess what? Those people have no control over those aspects of themselves! They didn’t choose their sexuality, gender identity, or their skin color. And they certainly didn’t go back in time and tell their ancestors “You know what would be awesome? Slavery!” 

Hate specific people who have hurt you or hurt others. Don’t making sweeping generalizations. You don’t have to declare your hate for thousands of innocent people in order to declare your hate for a handful of people who actually want to hurt you.
